Rourkela, a key centre for mining in the country and a valuable mini metro of Orissa is an ideal place for promotion world class management education which the institute has been undertaking since its inception in 1984. RIMS is affiliated to Sambalpur University, Orissa, Biju Pattnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, Orissa, for different programmes and follows the curriculum prescribed by the respective universities for each of its courses. It has got NBA AICTE accreditation and ISO 9001-2000 certification from RWTUV Germany. RIMS offers courses like Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master in Computer Applications (MCA), Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC), Bachelor of Social Works and Rural Development (BSWRD), Bachelor of Tribal Development (BTD), Executive MBA (E-MBA).
