Institute of Management Studies (IMS) Society is a non-profit making charitable educational entity, established in 1996 and located in the state of Uttaranchal. Institutes being run by the IMS Society are: Institute of Management Studies, Dehradun; Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehradun; Institute, of Management Studies, Noida; IMS Law College, Noida; and Unison School of Law, Dehradun.
The society started IMS, Dehradun, in 1996, offering management & IT degree courses, after attaining affiliation to HNB Garhwal University and approval by AICTE and the ministry of HRD, government of India. In 1998, two more institutes were established - IMS, Noida (conducting management degree courses) and Dehradun Institute of Technology (DIT), Dehradun (running engineering degree courses in affiliation to UP Technical University and approved by AICTE). In 2004, IMS Law College was established at Noida, while Unison Law School came into being in Dehradun. More than 4,000 students are getting benefited by these five institutions, where approximately 500 staff members work as a team to impart excellence in education.
Dehradun, the institute’s base, has a distinctive character, a good quality of life and a growing national and international reputation. As the capital city of Uttaranchal, it is home to many national institutions and aspires to become the IT capital of the north. The landmark buildings range from the colonial FRI to the magnificent Darbar Saheb.
Courses offered by the institute include MBA, MCA, BBA, BCA, MIB, MA and BA in mass communication. The MBA programme offered here cover marketing, HR, finance and international business as specialised subjects, while, in the international executive MBA programme, general management, marketing and information technology are being offered.

Dehradun, at the foothills of the great Himalayan range, has the tradition of nurturing education. And management education is the newest vocation in this region, with Academy of Management Studies, being one of the earliest entrants in management education from this hilly region. Started by the Dayanand Shiksha Sansthan, Kanpur, UP, which manages 23 educational institutions (including the Law College, Graduate and Post Graduate Colleges for Men and Women), the institute has been operating since 1993. The AMS campus is situated on its own land, amidst lush green hills and rivers. In winter, the snowcapped ridges of Mussoorie create a magnificent backdrop to the institution. With its cool environs and quiet ambience, AMS campus becomes an ideal place for higher and demanding studies.
Courses offered here include PGDBA/MBA, MCA, BCA and a post graduate diploma in sales management. Students are admitted on the basis of their performance in written test, group discussions and interviews. Admission is strictly on merit and on all-India basis. The batch is cosmopolitan so that the students learn to live, study and work in multi-cultural environment and, as such, are unlikely to face problems of adjustment anywhere in their working lives
The institute has invested well in creating academic ambience, with airy class rooms and other amenities. It offers furnished, large, hostel facilities. The institute has a fully functional computer facility, with 50 nodes. It has modern sports amenities too. The infrastructure adequacy and practicality has been well appreciated and there are also enough transportation facilities to and from the institute.

The ambience also allows the visits of industry professionals from afar, which ensures inflow of latest information to the institute, as well as selection of students for summer and final placements.
