The institute has been doing community service through a concerted management process driven by its faculty which derives immense learning for the institute which is being passed on to the students as intellectual input through its Centre of Excellence started in 2004 and the CENDERET, an unique Non-government initiative started by the institute. The CENDERET has been in the forefront of assisting the state government in its initiatives for restructuring, community development and social engineering projects. This includes electricity reforms, water supply to Orissa’s key cities, rural wages and employment generation among others. Needless to add the placement performance and networking with the industry has been much above the industry norms for this institute.

Orissa has been quietly building itself a strong base for education and Regional College of Management (RCM), Bhubaneswar is one of the oldest icons of higher education which is could be considered as a benchmark for the state’s thrust forward. The management institute was established in 1982. Since its inception it has developed immensely in all areas right from infrastructure to the quality of education. The institute is a good example of a turnaround of a rare kind from being an institution which had lost its relevance after being in existence for over three decades to become one which could take the business school community of peers head on thanks to the leadership change effected merely a year earlier.
