Uplifting the weaker sections of the society is no easy task which the founding father of Indian constitution had realized. The institute set up in the memory of the true champion of the rights of oppressed class professes to sensitise its students on the needs of not so fortune section of the society and empowering them through management education. The institute was founded in 1995 by Ambedkar People’s Educational Trust, Hyderabad. Proinoted in 1990 by a group of visionary, versatile and eminent administrators of civil services, academicians, professionals, doctors, engineers and legal luminaries who are dedicated to serve the cause of education. It has more than 5000 members belonging to various walks of life and a Council of Trustees.
The prime objective of the Trust is to promote technical professional and man¬agement education among various sections of Society with special reference to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and other weaker sections by establishing a network of schools, colleges, management and technical institutions and Universities in Andhra Pradesh and in other parts of the country.
Institute is located in Visakhapatnam city which is an industrial hub with more than 50 giant public and private sector undertakings and a center of higher education with the Andhra University and many other technical and professional education institutes. The core PGDM programme of the institute is offered in six trimesters spread over equally in two-years with a total 28 core and 10 specialization subjects. The broad areas of specialization include Marketing/Finance/ HRM/Foreign Trade/Insurance/Information Technology. The student shall carry out the field survey at the end of the first year, apart from internship for six weeks in reputed corporate.
The institute had achieved around 94% placement in the year 2005. Out of the 53 qualified, 3 students opted for higher studies the while remaining 50 were recruited across different corporate like FMCG (30%), IT (25%), Pharma (23%), Services (10%) and 6% turned entrepreneurs.
