Orissa has been quietly building itself a strong base for education and Regional College of Management (RCM), Bhubaneswar is one of the oldest icons of higher education which is could be considered as a benchmark for the state’s thrust forward. The management institute was established in 1982. Since its inception it has developed immensely in all areas right from infrastructure to the quality of education. RCM went through a change in leadership recently with the state govenunent the board of governors of the college in conjunction deciding to induct an experienced professional to run the institute and take it to the next level.
The RCM campus is located in a 2-acre lush green campus with a well-maintained garden in the heart of Bhubaneshwar. RCM has provided infrastructure comparable to that of some of the most well known business schools in the country. The institute has a strong full time faculty members, with many of whom being PhDs.
The institute has an ongoing affiliation with Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). The semester system has been replaced by a trimester system. The curriculum is designed, keeping in mind what is taught in some of India’s best b-schools. The classroom sessions are interactive with emphasis given on students’ participation through presentations, literature reviews and case discussions.
Since its inception this institute evolved qualifiedly to match international standards in imparting training, in fracture and faculty. Every aspect was checked, rechecked and verified over a period of time and improvements were made to achieve innovative education. After the perfectly unabridged metamorphosis, this institute is now proud to boast of excellence in education. The very best of minds, shape the future of bright and energetic students, aided by up to date technological support.
The way forward is for the institute to blossom into a national level institute with expansion in seat strength and introduction of new courses which is the priority of the new management team. Towards this the team has been strengthening the infrastructure and faculty quality and putting in more efforts in building intellectual capital of the institute.
